Make Sure Your Garage is a sound structure with a Building Permit

A garage permit is also required to change the use of an existing building from a garage/carport (Class 10a) to a dwelling/habitable building (Class 1a).

A garage used temporarily as a dwelling is not exempt from the requirement to obtain a garage permit for its construction.
